The College Prep Etiquette High School Course for Grades 9-12

Presented by Dr. Patricia Tice, Etiquette Iowa

This course is designed for high school students to become better prepared for college and the careers ahead of them. It instills confidence and teaches the added soft skills/people skills needed to set students apart in a competitive environment. The course includes two sessions to cover etiquette topics with an instructional 4-course dinner to prepare students for future interviews and business dinners. The growth and ownership the students start to take on with regards to their grades, activities and learning how to start and build their resumes is very rewarding to see. This class sets them on their way.

Cost: $180.00 for the three-session course for 7 hours of instruction*
(Cost includes all instruction, materials and 4-course Manners in Motion Dinner. )

Topics covered in Session 1:

History of etiquette and why using it matters; handshakes, introductions and making a great first impression; creating your personal elevator speech (goldfish vs. humans); starting and maintaining conversations; taking the fear out of public speaking; invitations and RSVP’s; writing elegant and meaningful thank you notes; how to correctly address an envelope to mail; how to read an analog clock; etiquette in public places; cell phone etiquette; being a great guest in someone’s home; being a great host/hostess. Resume development is started in this session.
